The Connected Season

Feeling Connected, Whatever Season of Life You May Be In

About

Welcome to The Connected Season

This blog was inspired to connect, uplift, and encourage those who might feel disconnected, lonely, or discouraged in their current season of life.  Though life can be difficult at times, there are still beautiful, wonderful, purposeful things happening in our lives.

Whether you are in a season transition or stagnation.  A season of hustle or a season of rest. A season of questioning who you are and what you believe in or a season of embracing who God created you to be. A season of longing for littles, of wishing your littles were bigger, or of wishing you bigs were little again. A season of confusion or of finding calmness in clarity. A season of exciting ‘hellos’ or one of difficult ‘goodbyes.’ A season of feeling lonely or a season of wishing you could pee alone just for once. A difficult season, or a thriving one. You may be in a season of waiting or one of rushing. A season of forgiving. A season of healing. A season of growth in ways you don’t yet understand.  Whatever season you are in, this blog is for you.

I don’t know what season of life you’re in dear friend, but I hope this blog can leave you feeling encouraged to connect with yourself and others in whatever season you may be in.

About Me:

I have always loved all things family, home, and tradition.  So, you might be surprised to know that I have been in a “season of singlehood” throughout my adult life.  Yeah, that whole “life not going as planned” thing I talked about earlier, that’s my version.  I’ve had to learn a lot about embracing and growing in the season you’re in when everything inside of me wants to be raising babies.  I have worked for nearly 10 years as a therapist with the mission of helping families be happier and healthier together through emotional and relational healing.  My passion for family is fierce and whether I’m helping a family in therapy or talking about feeding a crowd at a family reunion on the blog, I find purpose and passion in talking about family and connection and want to continue writing about it, whatever season I may be in.

Oh, and a few fun facts about me just so we have a little fun too… I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place (Utah) because playing in the mountains or on the water is my love language. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and know that through Him, I can do all things (see more about what I believe here).  I geek out over home decor, DIYS, and all things Magnolia. …I have an immense interest in people and their stories. I love all things personal development and believe you can be content and kind to yourself while striving for progress.  This blog is a space where I’ll be sharing my love of connecting with others, creating beautiful spaces, living my faith, working on personal development, and exploring the great outdoors.

I’ve been a therapist for 12 years and I’m the co-founder of @rooted.ut and our new company @rootedwellnessandretreats. I have a passion for working with women and supporting them in connecting more deeply to to themselves and those they care about. The longer I’ve been in practice, the more I believe in the power of holistic living and working with the mind, body, and soul (or the self). In my clinical practice I work with anxiety and trauma and am trained in EMDR, IFS, SE in Nature, Nervous System Recalibration, and Clinical Yoga.

I love adventuring outdoors, doing yoga, hygge, and all things home decor and creating a sense of home - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m on my own path to living a more holistic life and hope you’ll join me on your own journey.

So what if instead you slow your steps as way to help regulate your nervous system? Imagine the slow cadence you might take when walking on a beach and try to reduce the speed of your step to this pace. Notice what happens…
